Christmas projects!

I thought I'd put up the pictures of my Christmas projects.  :)

First, we have the afghan I made for my mom.  I joined my first Crochet Along, and learned how to do new stitches, and put together my first afghan!  I think it turned out great.  :)

And, I made my first adult-sized knitted sweater for my brother!  :D

Does he like it?  Why yes, I think he does.  :D

And, it was also my project... or my mission, whichever you prefer ;) to have said brother adopt one of our shed kittens.  Cause they are adorable.

After holding this itty bitty teeny weeny kitty (did I mention that he's so itty bitty?  Like, in real life - literally half the size of his brothers!!)  he caved.  ;)

See how he's still wearing the sweater on New Year's?  Win!!  :D

(PS  Dan - have you named him officially yet?  Or should I tell the kids it's Baron von EvilSatan?  :giggle:)

Just for fun!

I haven't been taking a lot of pictures lately... which, I'm sure you've figured out.  ;)

But, I did try to capture something for the "self-potrait" theme at iheartfaces... but I didn't get it done until it was too late.   :/

So, I decided to play around with the picture just for fun!  :D

I added some texture - I used Kim Klassen's "Silent Night", a "Sparkle" texture I had, and I also did ... something in PSE9, that I can't even remember!  Something to do with matching photo styles with another picture.

Here's what I ended up with:

I believe I erased the texture off of the Christmas ball at about 40%.

I know it's not perfect, but at least I'm trying something different!  :)

And, just because I think it turned out really well, here's a pic of the sweater I made for the teddy we're giving my nephew for Christmas!  :D

Isn't that so cute?!??  I might make one for my 'babies are coming!' pile!  I'm sure to get another niece or nephew eventually.  ;)

I just realized that Jess has her December linky up, so I'm going to add my pic to her link!

Hiiiya!

My karate kids had their board breaking last week.

I took a few pics, but I have to warn you, the quality isn't very good.  :/  But you get the gist.  :)

Here's the class with their decorated boards!

Ethan went first... with a kick.  :)

Justin used a fist.

So did Becky.  :D  (And yes, that's Jeff watching in the background!  :)

They did a great job, and our kids raised $110 for the Booster Club!  Woo-Hoo!  Way to go, guys!  :D

And I'm posting this just for fun.  I made this hat.  Yes, I did.  It's actually purple, and I made two little flowers for it - one pink, one yellow.  I'm very very happy with how it turned out.  :D

Isn't it cute??  The colours are off, but I'm not retaking a pic right now.  But it IS purple.  A deep purple.  Now the other kids want one, too.  ;)

Now I'm heading out to enjoy some sunshine!  :)

Look what I made!!

And I'm not just talking about this gorgeous baby girl... ;) But look at what she's wearing! :D

I made that sweater all. by. myself!! I'm so happy with it. I've done toques, scarves, mittens and wristers, but this is the very first attempt at something a little more difficult.

It was really easy, too. I whipped it up in only three days. (Not entire days, but I'm sure you know what I mean. ;)

I didn't have the exact yarn in the pattern, so I think that's why it turned out a little small - Hannah's wearing a size 12 M! So, when I make her one again later, I'll try a 24 months... hopefully she'll have room to grow, then.

Knitting (and crocheting) are skills that I've wanted to master for a while... and slowly but surely, I'm getting better!
