I realize I've been ignoring you.

It's not on purpose.

And actually, when I clicked your link tonight, I was a little shocked that I haven't visited in almost three weeks.

I didn't mean it.

But, with dance competitions, holiday weekends, camping season starting, and baseball games beginning, it doesn't leave much time for anything else.

But I promise to come back.

Soon.

Project 52 - Week 15

I know, I'm late.  And, I don't have the picture for this week's "My Everyday" ready yet... but I like this pic, so I'm posting it.  ;)

The theme this week was two.

Two dancing girls.  :)  They are in a lyrical quartet, and took 1st place - High Gold - in their competition on Saturday!  Woot!  :D

A Hazy Assignment

So, the assignment for my photography course this week was hazy/backlit photos.

Of course, the week that #1, we had the stomach flu and #2 it was cloudy and rainy/snowy/sleetish.

But, there were two days that had a bit of sun peek through those clouds... just long enough for me to drag a kid out and try to finish my assignment.

These were my favourites.   :)

I  used a gold reflector for my shots.  You can see the tinge of gold in Ethan's hair.  This shot was a class favourite.  :)

Next, tried to catch a little sunflare.

A couple days later, we had some bonus unexpected sunshine.  Happened to be the day that I was feeling extremely under the weather.

But, I want to get the most out of this class, so I dragged my sick butt outside to try some more.

Rebekah was a willing model in a pretty dress.  ;)

I really liked how the tree curls around her.

And finally...

The SOOC shot had a lot more haze... and my classmates/teacher think I should add some more back in.  I just might try that... but I still like how this one turned out.  :)

And now, back to waiting for this week's assignment!  :)

I snapped this yesterday.  We woke up to 3+ inches of snow Saturday morning.  The kids were thrilled.  ;)

Jeff took the oldest four off to swimming/dance class.  Left me and the Hannah baby home alone.

Couldn't resist trying to get a picture of her.  She usually refuses to look into the camera.  But, I was able to get her to look just long enough to snap this.  :)

I *love* how her coat pops out of the snowy background.  :D

He turned thirteen last month.. and is on his way to becoming a young adult.

It's a tough one.  I mean, remember that "Up" photo of Hannah?  Yeah, I like that one.

Or there's the one of the girls lit by the tablet.

But... I think my new favourite is... this one.

Because, instead of the hands-in-front-of-my-face-cause-I-refuse-to-let-you-take-my-picture face I usually get... he actually *volunteered* to come outside so I could capture this jumping shot.
