A Hazy Assignment

So, the assignment for my photography course this week was hazy/backlit photos.

Of course, the week that #1, we had the stomach flu and #2 it was cloudy and rainy/snowy/sleetish.

But, there were two days that had a bit of sun peek through those clouds... just long enough for me to drag a kid out and try to finish my assignment.

These were my favourites.   :)

Week 2 Haze Re Edit (1 of 3)

I  used a gold reflector for my shots.  You can see the tinge of gold in Ethan's hair.  This shot was a class favourite.  :)

Next, tried to catch a little sunflare.

Week 2 Haze (2 of 4)

A couple days later, we had some bonus unexpected sunshine.  Happened to be the day that I was feeling extremely under the weather.

But, I want to get the most out of this class, so I dragged my sick butt outside to try some more.

Rebekah was a willing model in a pretty dress.  ;)

Week 2 Haze Re Edit (2 of 3)

I really liked how the tree curls around her.

 then, she {snapped}

And finally...

Week 2 Haze Re Edit (3 of 3)

The SOOC shot had a lot more haze... and my classmates/teacher think I should add some more back in.  I just might try that... but I still like how this one turned out.  :)

And now, back to waiting for this week's assignment!  :)

  1. Lovely work.

I always catch myself editing haze out too. :P

  2. I love the one of Becky with the tree framing her. And Ethan!! Just a great pic. Of course, I like all of them, but those two were my favourites.

  3. Lovely shots of your beautiful kiddos!

  4. Wonderful shots! I love how the light really backlights their hair.
